Wine, dress, bed sheet (6ft x 4ft). 2016.
Shroud is the stain of a wine soaked dress on a white bed sheet. This piece references the shroud of Turin, the proposed burial shroud of Jesus of Nazareth, and challenges the heavily worshiped Religious icon through the idea of embracing the fallen woman of original sin. The red stain references the bodily stain of a woman, while the red wine symbolizes the blood of Jesus. The stain asserts its presence confidently and without shame, embracing the stain left by an impure body.
